Convert between decimal, fraction and percent
Three ways to express the same number
Decimals, fractions, and percentages are three different ways to represent the same value. Being fluent in converting between them is essential for math, finance, and everyday calculations. Decimal to fraction: Write the decimal as a fraction with a power of 10 denominator, then simplify. 0.75 = 75/100 = 3/4. 0.333... = 1/3. Fraction to decimal: Divide numerator by denominator. 3/4 = 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75. 1/3 = 0.3333... (repeating). Percent to decimal: Divide by 100 (or move decimal point 2 places left). 75% = 0.75. 12.5% = 0.125. Decimal to percent: Multiply by 100. 0.75 = 75%. 1.5 = 150% (more than the whole). Common values to memorize: 1/2 = 0.5 = 50%. 1/4 = 0.25 = 25%. 1/3 ≈ 0.333 ≈ 33.3%. 1/8 = 0.125 = 12.5%. 3/4 = 0.75 = 75%.
